THE "HUMANITARIAN FRIENDS’ MEETING” EVENT WAS HELD IN BEIJING

The Mongolian Red Cross Society (MRCS) and the International Red Cross, Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) jointly organized the “Humanitarian Friends’ meeting” at the Embassy of Mongolia in Beijing on 29 February 2024. 

During this event which was organized at the initiative of the MRCS, Н.E. Mr. Тuvshin Badral, Ambassador of Mongolia to China, Ms. Nordov Bolormaa, Secretary General of the Mongolian Red Cross and Ms. Olga Dzhumaeva, Head of Delegation, East Asia at IFRC delivered opening remarks and MRCS has given a briefing on the ongoing situation resulting from Dzud or severe winter condition that Mongolia is faced with this year and its negative impacts on Mongolian herder communities as well as the response measures and humanitarian assistance provided by the Government of Mongolia and the MRCS.

Representatives from 22 embassies that are accredited to Mongolia from Beijing, the World Bank, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the Red Cross Society of China attended this event and some countries have pledged their support and announced plans to provide humanitarian assistance and donations.
